Join the "Single of the Month Club" - Tyson and the Friction new free songs monthly
Hey-o,
Here's the deal, I'm putting together a "Single of the Month" club. I have to give Jeff Phelps from the Bugs credit for the idea. It costs absotively nothing. Every month I will e-mail you a high quality song in MP3 format (256 or 192 depending on size). The songs will eventually be included in my next full length album "Fantastique Plastique". When the album finally comes out you'll have at least half of the record already for FREE!!
All I need from you are two things.
First of all I need your e-mail address so I can send you the song as an attachment. (I'll put it on here temporarily to stream, but I want you to have the best quality possible. You can e-mail me at:
analogsaves@yahoo.com
Second I want you to listen to the song, at least once, all the way to the end. If you don't like it, delete it, if you do like it listen to it, add it to your favorite playlist, forward it to friends, make a viral video of yourself lip synching in your underwear, I don't CARE! Just give it a chance.
The songs will vary quite a bit on sounds and style, but they will all be catchy as all get out.
The first song, titled "ELECTRO-SHOCK" will be sent out in early September. It features Matt from Mayhew the Traitor (Thinker Thought Records) doing some eery harmonies and it's a doooozeee. It's a little folk, a little techno, and a lot of weird.
Now, there's big news on the horizon concerning the "Listen to the Braintrust E.P." I'm not at liberty to say too much yet, but you may have notice I took down most of the free tracks for it and disabled downloading the songs.
Finally, September 5th is the release date of the new Peoria comp CD. It's a great collection of Peoria bands that not only includes Tyson and the Friction, but also includes Scout's Honor, Tina Sparkle, Minsk, Evil Eye Honeytree, Kuwahara, and much much more. There will be a show for the CD release in Peoria on Sept. 5th, and we'll be on the bill.
ok, cool.

Tyson, why in fuck-all did
Tyson, why in fuck-all did Paulies close? We're sad
Paulies
I'm not sure. I heard that a Caribbean Themed Bar offered to pay a ton more for the lease and sink $150,000 in renovations to the building. So the owner of the property denied Paulie's a renewal. I have no clue if any of this is true.
Actually, here's part of the article from the Pantagraph.
A touch of Caribbean downtown?
BLOOMINGTON - A downtown tavern could change hands in the coming months. Ann Luhcs, the owner of a building at 612 N. Main St., told the Bloomington Liquor Commission on Tuesday she is not renewing the lease for Paulie's.
Instead, Luhcs has offered a lease to Aaron and Nick Hurley of New Holland. They want to open a Caribbean-themed tavern.
The liquor commission voted 4-0 to recommend a tavern license be issued to the Hurley brothers that will allow them to sell all types of....
that's not cool
